More about me
Your life does not get better by chance; it gets better by change--Jim Rohn
Passionate About Inspiring Others
Art is another passion of mine. Among so many positive aspects, art provides a way to explore and understand emotions, a way to gain self awareness, and allows me to practice mindfulness. Doing art can even lower the stress hormone, cortisol. Art provides me joy and an avenue to be creative. Showing and selling art has helped me gain confidence and a willingness to take risks. My newest passion is pyrography. My wood-burned mandalas have a lot of significance and meaning behind each one. I hope you gain positive energy as the viewer.

I have been a therapist for 25 years. It is working with wonderful clients over the years that lead me to get trained as a life coach. It is very rewarding to work with motivated individuals making change for their positive futures. I get a lot of energy from others' success! With my background as a therapist, I feel I have the expertise to differentiate when a client may need therapy vs. life coaching. At this point, the appropriate referral would be made. Bluebird Life Coaching does not provide mental health therapy of any kind.

What is a life coach?

A life coach helps a person grow by analyzing his or her current situation, identifying existing challenges/obstacles, and helping develop a plan of action to achieve specific outcomes in life. The relationship between a coach and a client is one of partnership. Advice is rarely given. The coaching process helps the client maximize his or her potential and increase his or her productivity. People hire coaches because they want to DO more tomorrow than they can do today. All kinds of people use life coaches, including actors, business leaders, executive, homemakers, managers, students, and business owners, to name a few. They want to close the gap between where they are and where they want to be. Coaching can help reach this goal. Life coaching is not covered by health insurance, but certainly can be an investment in your future.

Tony Robbins says it well: "Life coaching is truly its own unique service designed to help ambitious achievers meet the outcomes that will bring them success and fulfillment."

What is a therapist?

A therapist holds a specific degree allowing him or her to diagnose and treat clients from a healthcare perspective. Their focus is often related to a person's past problems/experiences in order to help him or her move forward. Therapists often gain understanding of a person's past to help understand where he or she is today. They are often interested in the "why". A client may find himself seeking therapy to work through past trauma or negative experience, have a mental health diagnosis treated, or to explore past relationships to determine ways to improve. Therapy is covered by most health insurance.

Although coaches and therapists may see similar clients, their work is distinctly different.
